The El Paso County Coroner has now identified the victim of a homicide that happened in Colorado Springs on Monday as 19-year-old Demitir Crockett of Colorado Springs.

Police from Colorado Springs were called to a gunshot on Monday in the 900 block of 19th Street. They discovered a man victim who had been shot. He was transferred to a hospital, but his injuries caused him to pass away.

Demitir Crockett, a Colorado Springs resident who is 19 years old, has been named by the coroner as that man.

This was one of three homicides that the police department looked into Monday night, prompting the city to be placed on accident alert.
