The driver who died in a two-vehicle collision in the Old Bridge collision on Wednesday morning has been identified by authorities as a 22-year-old Middlesex County male.

Old Bridge resident Driton Guze was driving south on Route 9 at at 6:25 a.m. when he lost control, crossed the grass median, and was hit by a pickup truck coming north whose driver was unable to stop in time, according to township police.

At the scene of the collision, which happened near Phillips Drive, Guze was declared dead.

The pickup truck’s 29-year-old Manalapan driver was taken to the hospital with critical wounds.

Guze attended the Rutgers University Business School. He graduated from Old Bridge High School and Middlesex County College with an associate’s degree.
