Walter Shirk Obituary News: Authorities identify man crushed to death by bulldozer in Lancaster County.
Authorities said that a bulldozer in Lancaster County knocked over an 81-year-old tree worker on Monday, causing his death.
According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, Ephrata resident Walter Shirk was killed around 3:15 p.m. while working in a wooded area of a farm in West Cocalico Township.
According to Ephrata police, a bulldozer rolled down the hill toward Shirk and another guy as they were felling trees in a nearby ravine. One of the men was killed when the bulldozer smashed him.
