Mission Beach Car Accident: Two killed, At least five injured in head-on crash near San Fernando Place.

According to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department’s Battalion Chief Johnny Flores, two people died and five others taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision around 3:15 p.m. in Mission Beach Saturday.

The San Diego Police and SDFD responded to the incident at the 2900 block of Mission Boulevard near San Fernando Place, report says.

According to SDPD Officer R. Heims, a 62-year-old man was operating a Ford EcoSport in the northbound lanes of Mission Boulevard.

Both vehicles crashed head-on in the northbound lane as a 41-year-old man was operating a Kia Sportage.

According to SDPD, the Ford’s driver was declared dead at the site.

A 59-year-old woman who was riding in the Kia was also declared dead at the scene, according to authorities.

One Ford passenger suffered internal chest bleeding, while the other two were sent to hospitals. Three people in the Kia were sent to hospitals, one of whom had multiple injuries and was in severe condition.
