John was a founding members of Strawberry Jam and later with Mother Nature’s Sons.
An online obituary on Friday, December 2, 2022, announced the passing of John Shemo. However, his cause of death was not disclosed.
“I am shocked and saddened to be waking up to the news of the passing of John Shemo. I just saw him perform not that long ago and he was, of course, just as entertaining as ever. The man was always joyous. He always greeted you with a big smile and a genuine sense of warmth. And over the years he entertained thousands upon thousands of people in NEPA with his musical talents. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans,” a tribute post shared via Facebook read.
“Absolutely shocked and saddened by the passing of John Shemo . One of the nicest, talented and supportive musicians in the area. You will be greatly missed. Condolences to his entire family,” another post read.
