Morgan Wetherbee Car Accident: In loving memory of teen killed in “tragic” 2020 Charlotte crash; Breeana McClain Arrest, Charges & Sentencing.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a woman was charged with involuntary manslaughter on Thursday after a vehicle crash victim passed away nearly seven months after the event.
On May 7, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) reported that Breeana McClain, 25, was operating a 2007 Nissan Maxima “carelessly and recklessly” just after 6:05 p.m. on North Tryon Street. She reportedly overcorrected and lost control after driving off the right side of the road and onto a gravel shoulder while moving at a fast speed, according to the police.
According to the inquiry, McClain’s car crossed three lanes, went over a high concrete median, and then into oncoming traffic where it struck Morgan Wetherbee’s 2011 Toyota Yaris.
Wetherbee was transported to the hospital due to serious injuries. Dec. 4 marks her passing.
On Day 995 – January 26, 2023 we will be facing the other driver for the first time. Just sit for 10 seconds and imagine the emotion of that moment. You may need longer than 10 seconds, because it’s heavy. It’s heavy because the actions of this driver ultimately took Morgan’s life away from us. But it’s even heavier because instead of remorse, we have received horrible messages from the driver.
