Heather Lockwood Death – Obituary: Sudbury Woman Dies After Snowmobile Mishap: A Sudbury lady died after setting out on a snowmobile last night to meet friends who were going ice fishing on a lake close to Parry Sound.
In Seguin Township, during the heavy snowstorm on Wednesday night, 29-year-old Heather Lockwood was confirmed dead after her snowmobile smashed through the ice of Oastler Lake.
In a few days, an autopsy is anticipated to be conducted in Sudbury to ascertain the precise cause of death.
Little information can be confirmed at this time, according to OPP Const. Joe Scali, but it looks that Lockwood had headed out on a snowmobile to meet up with pals who were ice fishing on Oastler Lake. Lockwood reportedly failed to appear at a prearranged location, according to the police.
According to the police, Lockwood’s buddies came across some brand-new snowmobile tracks on the ice that finally led to some open water. At that moment, on Wednesday night at nine o’clock, police were informed.
OPP responded to the call with aid from Seguin Township Fire Department and Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services (EMS). According to Scali, the investigation is ongoing.
She was a nurse, according to Lockwood’s Facebook page.
