Dimitrious Stanley, who used to play wide receiver for Ohio State, died on Thursday. He was 48 years old.
After fighting prostate cancer for four years, the best receiver on the 1996 Ohio State Buckeyes team died. On its official website, the school said that he had died.
In 1996, when Ohio State beat Arizona State to win the Rose Bowl, Stanley started all 12 games for the Buckeyes.
In 1993, when he was a freshman, and 1996, when he was a senior, he was on Big Ten champion teams.
Stanley played for Ohio State for 45 games, catching 63 passes for 1,136 yards and 13 touchdowns. In his senior year, he really started to shine. He led Ohio State with 829 yards on 43 catches, eight of which were touchdowns.
