It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of a beloved member of our community, Peter Kerr, Owenriff Park, Oughterard and formerly of Ballycastle, Co. Antrim.
Pete, a dedicated family man and active member of numerous local groups, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
He was known for his sincerity, gentle and friendly way, he always had time for a laugh and a chat.
Peter had a great wit and intelligence that endeared him to all who knew him. His unexpected departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
An active man with a love of nature and the outdoors, he enjoyed kayaking, kite-surfing and also enjoyed taking part in the local parkrun, Jog the Bog and Mayfly 10k races locally and was always a willing volunteer when called upon.
He had recently joined a group attempting to set up a Community First Responders’ unit in Oughterard. Donations on his behalf, in lieu of flowers, can be made, if desired, to Oughterard Community First Responders.
