After killing a pedestrian, a speeding automobile crashed into a residence on North Broadway.
Kenney-O’Rourke left her Corley Street residence on Sunday evening to go for a stroll. She was fatally struck by an out-of-control automobile that slammed into the sidewalk two blocks distant on North Broadway before striking a retaining wall.
At the intersection of North Broadway and Constant Avenue, the automobile then slammed into a house.
Dr. James O’Rourke, a former mayor of Yonkers, had a son, and Kenney-O’Rourke was engaged in a number of civic activities.
According to police, the driver was a White Plains, New York, lady, age 54. She was discovered by first responders in “an altered state.” The circumstances are all being looked into.
