On Tuesday night, tragedy hit the Northland neighborhood when a young person was killed in a collision involving three automobiles.
The Kansas City Police Department responded quickly to the incident, which happened at roughly 6:10 p.m. close to the intersection of NW 68th Street and Waukomis Road.
According to accounts, a gold Chevrolet Impala heading north into NW Waukomis from east on NW 68th Street collided with a black Toyota Corolla traveling west on NW 68th Street.
The Toyota then struck a red Volkswagen waiting to turn west at a stoplight, careened off the road, and slid down an embankment before finally hitting a post.
Drew Price, a Park Hill High School student, was the Toyota’s back passenger. Tragically, he was ejected from the car and was declared dead at the scene.
This tragic occurrence serves as a reminder of the need of wearing a seatbelt and the grave dangers of careless driving.
Investigations are still on the crash.
