Menallen Township Car Accident: 28-year-old driver dies in Saturday night crash near 7902 National Pike.
In Menallen Township, Fayette County, a man lost his life when the vehicle he was operating slammed into a gas station sign due to a loss of control.
At 10:40 on Saturday night, the collision took place close to 7902 National Pike, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The 28-year-old driver was speeding through the intersection of Northgate Highway and Route 40 as he was heading west. According to authorities, the car veered off the westbound lane and onto the high median in the middle of the street.
The vehicle lost control, spun counterclockwise, and while continuing to go west, merged into the eastbound lane. The vehicle left the road and struck the Kwik Fill sign, coming to a complete stop there.
Unrestrained, the driver had to be pulled from the vehicle.
He was sent to Uniontown Hospital in a serious state. Later, he passed away in the hospital.
