Tuesday night, a collision in San Mateo County claimed the lives of two persons, according to the Redwood City division of the California Highway Patrol.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported that the collision occurred head-on on Highway 1 at Bean Hollow Road close to the town of Pescadero. Following the collision, two automobiles were recovered from a lagoon.
Police were alerted to the collision at around 6:40 o’clock. Around 7:30 p.m., rescue teams were sent into action, and they are still looking for survivors.
The number of people who were inside the involved vehicles is unknown. A person who was “critically injured” was brought to a hospital.
Investigations continue.
