Is Ny Lieutenant Governor Arrested For Fraud? New York’s Lt. Gov. Brian A. Benjamin, the state’s second-in-command to Gov. Kathy Hochul was arrested earlier on Tuesday, he was charged for bribery, fraud, and falsification of documents in connection with a plot to divert unlawful money to a prior campaign.
Brian Benjamin was charged in a five-count indictment with plotting to divert state funds to a Harlem real estate mogul in exchange for thousands of dollars in unlawful campaign contributions to his failed 2021 race for New York City comptroller.

Brian Benjamin was married to Cathleen McCadden Benjamin in 2018. The relationship was blessed with two children; two daughters. Their first child was Caroline and the second one was Olivia. Both Olivia and Caroline can be seen on Brian’s Instagram handle and the cuddly love he possesses for both of them is adorable.
There is a tweet by Brian in November 2019 where he posted a boomerang of his wife and child. The video shows them going out to take their little daughter to the polls to ‘vote early’.
Their elder daughter is named Caroline and she was born in 2018. Similarly, they recently became parents for the second time in the year 2021.
Benjamin has turned himself into authorities to face campaign finance fraud charges in connection with a previous campaign, according to CNBC.
Benjamin is scheduled to appear in federal court in Manhattan later Tuesday. Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office, as well as a spokesman for Benjamin, could not be reached for comment on the arrest immediately.
Following his arrest prosecutors in Manhattan and the FBI are investigating whether Benjamin willfully participated in a campaign money crime conspiracy.
According to CNBC, a spokesperson for the U.S. attorney’s office and a spokeswoman for the FBI previously refused WNBC requests for comment on the Benjamin probe.
A representative for Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins did not respond to calls for comment, either.
