Cicero Teen Arrest: Police arrest 16-year-old minor for killing Eduardo Leyva

After the Cicero Police were informed of shooting case in a street in Cicero on 8th of May, 2022 at 8:42 in the morning.

It was revealed that a teenager who is just 16-year-old has been charged with first degree Murder.

The Cicero Police have arrested the minor
The victim was an 18-year old Eduardo Leyva of Cicero. Leyva was found with several gunshot wounds.

However, Leyva was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital but was later declared dead.

According to a witness, 16-year-old left the scene of the incident but was later arrested at his place of work in Chicago.

The minor, the 16-year-old boy’s case was treated like an adult after the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office reviewed the case and approved First-Degree Murder on May 9, 2022.

The suspect attended a bond hearing and is being held on a $10 million cash bond at the Cook County Juvenile Detention facility on 10th of May, 2022.

“We have experienced another senseless act of violence in our community and now two more families have the burden of dealing with separate losses,” stated Superintendent of Police, Jerry R. Chlada Jr. “Our youth are committing violent crimes at an alarming rate, and we need everyone’s help to address this issue.”
