The NDP MLA for Thompson, Danielle Adams was killed in a tragic car accident near the northern Manitoba city on Thursday afternoon. She was 39 years old.
“I’m very sad to confirm Danielle Adams, the NDP MLA for Thompson and a dedicated mother and partner, passed away this afternoon,” Wab Kinew wrote. “Danielle fought hard for a better life for families, northerners, & kids across Manitoba.”

Danielle Adams was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitobain in the 2019 Manitoba general election. She represented the electoral district of Thompson as a member of the New Democratic Party of Manitoba.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I share our friend and colleague, Danielle Adams, MLA for Thompson, died after a car accident today,” Uzoma Asagwara, MLA for Union Station wrote via Facebook.
“Danielle was a mom to two beautiful boys, she was a partner, family member, friend and tireless advocate for the North. She was brilliant, funny, strong and committed to making Manitoba better for all people.”
“She had such a big, good and kind heart and was an integral part of our NDP family.”
