Rene Hofer Death – Cause of Death: The Motocross star was killed in an avalanche along with two friends on a skiing trip in Austria. He was 19 years old.
On Sunday KTM Factory Racing community shared, “The entire KTM family is deeply saddened by the terrible news that MX2 factory racer Rene Hofer, along with two of his friends, has passed away following a skiing incident in Austria.”
According to reports, Hofer was and two friends were swept away and buried by the slab of snow in Tweng, Salzburg.

Eight out of a group of 11 skiers were hit by a 200-meter wide slab of snow while trying to ascend a mountain during a ski tour in the Tweng area, in Salzburg province on Saturday, December 4.
Three of the skiers were killed in the tragic incident while two who were able to come of the avalanche were injured.
