WAUKESHA TRAGEDY UPDATE: Darrell Edward Brooks Jr. identified as suspect, death toll rises, victims identified

Waukesha Tragedy Update: The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who drove the SUV that plowed into the Waukesha Christmas parade. According to reports, Darrell Edward Brooks Jr. struck, killed and injured several people.

Brooks had been fleeing a domestic disturbance, when the incident happened, police said.

Initially on Sunday night, four people had been reportedly killed and more than 40 were injured in the Waukesha, Wisconsin incident, “These numbers may change as we collect additional information.” City official shared via Twitter.

The suspect, Darrell Edward Brooks Jr. is reportedly a local rapper dubbed Mathboi Fly.

Brooks who according to records has a long criminal record was recently released from jail earlier this month on $1,000 bail after being charged with several counts including recklessly endangering safety and battery.


On Monday, November 22, officials have identified five deceased victims from the incident.

81-year-old Wilhelm Hospel, 79-year-old Virginia Sorenson, 71-year-old Leanna Owens, 52-year-old Tamara Durand, 52-year-old Jane Coolidge.

More than 20 victims of the incident remains in hospital.
