Gary Waldhorn Death – Cause of Death: Vicar of Dibley star, Gary Waldhorn dies unexpectedly aged 78.
According to an online obituary, English actor and comedian known for his roles in British television and theatre, Gary Waldhorn died peacefully at at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022.
Waldhorn is particularly remembered for his work in the main casts of several British sitcoms, including Richard Beamish in All at No 20, Lionel Bainbridge in Brush Strokes and Councillor David Horton in The Vicar of Dibley.
“Classically trained, it was the theatre where he truly flourished and he leaves a legacy of entertainment that saw him frequent the boards of Broadway, the West End and our living rooms on the telly!,” Gary’s son, Josh said while announcing his passing on Monday.
“He leaves behind his two grandsons, Cooper and Bayley and his son Josh. We will all miss him terribly.”
Apart from appearing in The Vicar of Dibley, Waldhorn also made many television appearances from the 1970s including
Softly, Softly, The Sweeney, Space: 1999, The New Avengers, Brideshead Revisited, The Professionals,
Minder, Robin of Sherwood, Rumpole of the Bailey, The Bill, Heartbeat, Gallowglass and Lovejoy. He also played Lionel Bainbridge in the first three series of Brush Strokesbefore the character was written out, and Richard Beamish in the first series of All at No 20.
He also starred as Ralph Apsoland in the 1993 miniseries
