37 year-old North Carolina Pastor, Ryan Marlow Moved His Feet Only Minutes Before His Organs Were To Be Removed
Ryan Marlow, aged 37 years old was suffering from listeria – an infection caused by bacteria, and had spent two weeks in a local hospital.
A North Carolina pastor pronounced brain dead by his physicians somehow started to show signs of life after being shown videos of his children just minutes before he was slated to have his organs removed.
According to Ryan’s wife, Megan, On Saturday, August 27, 2022, his doctors pronounced him clinically dead, His doctors told her that his illness had caused swelling in the brain and he had suffered ‘neurological death.’
Ryan was specifically being kept on life support to have his organs taken and find potential matches, as he was listed as an organ donor. Three days later, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, the family headed to the hospital to say their goodbyes. As the wife arrived at the hospital, however, her niece said that Ryan’s feet had inexplicably begun moving upon being shown videos of his children.
Megan, who had announced her husband’s illness in Facebook live streams that drew thousands of views, said in a video that her ‘heart could not bare it.’ A follow-up CT scan showed signs of brain activity and Megan concluded that her husband did not die, with the doctors had made a mistake.
Megan said that her husband, while not dead, had still suffered a traumatic injury to his brain stem and remained in critical condition in a coma.
But Megan made it clear that He’s not brain dead, saying “God’s kept him here”. ‘He’s supposed to be dead, he’s supposed to be at the funeral home right now according to these doctors.’ Megan says her husband has shown encouraging signs, including his heart rate going up and occasional movements. Her husband is both a baptist pastor and a piano technician who owns his own business. Presently, Megan is trying to transfer her husband to a new hospital but the move has been suspended.
