Big E, was the former WWE Champion, who suffered a horrible injury and broke his neck while facing Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a tag team match.
Luke Menzies popularlly known as Ridge Holland is a former professional rugby league footballer and professional wrestler from England. He is presently contracted to WWE and works under the ring name “Ridge Holland” on the SmackDown brand.
Big E and Kofi Kingston were supposed to face Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a tag team bout at the event.
Everything was going well until Holland tried a belly-to-belly suplex, which resulted in Big E landing awkwardly at ringside.
Medical personnel treated the New Day member right away and brought him out of the arena on a stretcher, while Big E revealed that he had fractured his neck shortly after.
