Bob has an interest in racing vintage cars, and he claimed that he has made just $101,401 in 2007 and handed over $45,114 in income taxes, later the IRS found out that he had made about $3.1 million, and he should have paid $481,623 in tax, but he didn’t even pay half of it. Similarly, in 2008 had claimed he made just $94,137 and handed over $44,926 to income tax.
Due to not paying taxes according to his actual income, he faced three years in prison and was fined $250k, but his lawyer was also asking for probation. He spent about six months in jail rather than three years.
