Johnson was raised in Victor, Idaho but was born in Jackson, Wyoming, she finished eighth in the downhill standing in her debut world cup session and moved on to making her World Cup debut in December 2015. In 2017,
Johnson suffered a tibial plateau fracture in her left leg as she crashed on the downhill at the World Cup finals in Aspen in March. Breezy recovered rapidly from her injury, finishing tenth in the downhill rankings in 2018 and competing in the Winter Olympics, where she placed seventh in the downhill and fifteenth in the super-G.
Again Johnson tore her right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while training in Chile in September 2018 and cause her to miss the 2019 season. In June 2019, she tore her left posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) in training after returning to snow.
Johnson got back on the game on January 2020 and returned to the World Cup circuit with a 25th place finish in the downhill at Altenmarkt and two top-ten finishes at Bansko. Her first World Cup podium occurred in a downhill in Val d’Isère, France, in December 2020. She has qualified to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics for the United States.
