Renowned journalist, writer, and cultural manager from Barranquilla, Heriberto Fiorillo, passed away early Tuesday morning at the age of 68 due to medical complications he had been battling for several years.

According to Polo’s statement to the Heraldo, the individual passed away peacefully despite facing significant medical complications. Even while at home, the individual remained engaged with various activities, including providing input for the 16th edition of the International Carnival of the Arts. Polo noted that the individual continued to offer ideas regarding the guest grill.
From a tender age, Fiori, as he was fondly called by his peers, devoted his life to the arts. Over the course of four decades, he has established himself as a versatile professional, having dabbled in various fields such as writing, screenwriting, journalism, and filmmaking.
The individual in question served as the director of the La Cueva Foundation and was responsible for overseeing the highly acclaimed International Carnival of the Arts of Barranquilla for a period of 15 years. In addition to his other endeavors, he served as the deputy director of Cromos magazine and held the position of editor at the newspaper El Heraldo.
