Marie Laure Buisson is a 55 years old French author, who was a business lawyer, and the founder of the Marie-Laure Buisson Foundation.
In 2018 Marie-Laure Buisson dedicated herself to her Foundation “Fondation Marie-Laure Buisson – Fondation de France” in support of war-wounded and oppressed peoples since 2018.
Buisson was made Colonel of the Citizen Reserve of the Air Force and then was chosen as a qualified individual to the Air Force Foundation, she was given the incredible honor of being named “godmother” of the 4th Foreign Regiment. She becomes one of the few women to sponsor a regiment in French military history in 2019, April
Buisson has recently published her book with the title Femmes combattantes on 25th February 2022, where she has written about the unsung history of seven women fighters from the Second World War, while she was born in 1967
She runs her foundation to assist soldiers who have been injured in the war and the families of soldiers who have died in the line of duty for France, as she spent many years working for the European Parliament before being appointed as the Deputy General Delegate of the Véolia Foundation in January 2004.
She became the Deputy General Delegate of the Véolia Foundation, Buisson spent the next seven years traveling across all continents, in sometimes hostile environments.
The motive of her travel was to fund projects of general interest such as hospitals in Africa, coca cultivation replacement in Colombia, and the nutrition of children living on garbage dumps in Asia
Buisson holds a French nationality and is the mother of two children married to Gilles August, a well-known lawyer who has defended Jérôme Cahuzac and Bernard Tapie, which she has a strong interest in defense issues, and the army and its beliefs attracted her. She chose to follow the course of the Institute for Advanced Studies in National Defense, where she discovered the military world and Foreign Legion.
From 2011 Buisson was invested in the Foreign Legion by choice, and in 2015, she was made the Legionnaire 1st Class on an honorary basis for remarkable contributions offered to the Institution.
