Aliah Johnson of Wilkinsburg Death: Teenager killed in Point Breeze home shooting

Aliah Johnson Death: The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office have identified the victim in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh shooting as Aliah Johnson of Wilkinsburg.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, police and Emergency Medical Services responded to a shooting report at a home on the 100 block of North Linden Avenue at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 20.

Upon officers arrival, 17-year-old Aliah Johnson who had been shot in the head was discovered deceased.

16-year-old Emeka Moye-King who was Johnson’s boyfriend told the police he kept his glock 30 handgun in Johnson’s care before using the bathroom. When he returned from the bathroom, Moye-King said he took the gun from her with his finger on the trigger, and placing it on a nearby dresser, when the gun went off and fatally struck Johnson.

Moye-King ran downstairs and told his mother what happened, before she called 911, police said.

Aliah Johnson was a junior at Gateway High School, a cheerleader and played softball.

Moye-King was taken into custody and charged with one count of criminal homicide and one count of possession of a firearm by a minor.
