The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is currently investigating a shooting fatality that occurred on St Andrews Dr. in The Estates at Perimeter.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office received a dispatch at approximately 6:00 p.m. regarding two victims being shot.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the victims were traveling down Saint Andrews and Perimeter Dr when a suspect opened fire on their vehicle, striking both occupants.
Mark Bowen, the coroner, identifies the deceased as Usaini Yunusa, 24, from Austell, Georgia.
The Coroner’s Office of Richmond County was dispatched to the site. Coroner Bowen states in a report that the victims who were shot plowed into trees at the intersection of Interstate Parkway.
The injured driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. The passenger, however, was shot at least once and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is responding to a gunshot on St Andrews Dr. at Estates Perimeter.
A witness stated that the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. At this time, crime scene units have taped off the active crime scene. In addition, Mark Bowen, the coroner for Richmond County, was called to the site. We will continue to provide updates whenever we discover new information about this incident.
