The arrest of Raju K. Rawal, 65, for allegedly killing Haley Losinski in the 11000 block of Pike Place, just west of Randolph Street, was announced by the authorities on Monday night.
Losinski’s parents, who visited her at home to check on her and found evidence of foul play, reportedly found her battered and lifeless body early on February 27.
According to Town Marshal Dan Ball, the Winfield Police Department was called to 11204 Pike Pl. on Monday, February 27, 2023 at around 5:40 PM for a complaint of a non-responsive female.
The homeowner’s parents were waiting for the police when they got there to see how their daughter was doing. As police entered the house, they discovered Haley M. Losinski, 36, dead. According to Ball, there were cues within the house that made the cops think there might have been foul activity going on. Both the Lake County Coroner and the Lake County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene.
After an autopsy on Ms. Losinski on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, the coroner concluded that the woman had suffered a blunt force injury to the head. At that point, assistance with the inquiry was requested from the Major Crimes Task Force.
