A female homicide victim who was discovered dead on the city’s west side on Monday afternoon has been identified by Columbus police.
Maria Fernanda Guerra-Sandoval, 15, was discovered unconscious outside on the 4700 block of Sullivant Avenue in Westland at around 5:26 p.m. on Monday. When police came, they discovered a girl who didn’t appear to be breathing and appeared to be suffering from an unidentified wound.
Guerra-Sandoval was declared dead at 5:34 p.m., but her cause of death is still a mystery. Police searched the area for any video surveillance or other material that would support their inquiry.
