“The Munster Police Department would like to send out our condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of Amanda Jez, assistant principal of Elliott Elementary School, who sadly passed away this past week,” Munster Police Department wrote in a tribute post shared on Facebook. “In addition to working with our police department on school safety initiatives she also regularly assisted with several other community policing events through her work with the Munster Junior Woman’s Club. She will be greatly missed.”
