Sean Kertes, a Westmoreland County commissioner, was married to Ashley Kertes, who passed away abruptly on Friday morning at the age of 36.
Police were called to Kertes’ home shortly before 7:30 a.m., according to Greensburg Mayor Robb Bell, when they discovered her unconscious in bed.
There is no indication of foul play. Officials stated that the reason for her death was not made public.
In the Greensburg Salem School District, Kertes served as the superintendent’s associate administrator and community outreach. She previously spent four years as the executive director of the Greensburg Community Development Corporation as well as the fiscal department and controller’s office of the courthouse in Westmoreland County.
Wayne Gongaware, a district judge in North Huntingdon, is the father of Kertes. Her mother is a court assistant who works at the courtroom.
