The rescue lost a very important, extremely special member of the family last week.
Bailey Lentz Veitch was with us from the very start. Before we were even ATCAR, at the ripe age of just 12 years old, she was on every call with our Founder ready to save anything and everything in her path.
Many late nights, lost dogs, baths, cat wound cleanings, hoarding houses, you name it, this little chick was all in, all of the time.
Last Sunday her life was cut short by a tragic hit and run incident in Connellsville. She was just 16 years old. We are shocked, devastated, and in complete despair after this tremendous loss.
She had the drive, she had the heart, she was a rescuer through and through. She cared so much for the animals in need. She made a difference. Not just in the animals lives but in all the lives of the humans she touched as well. She taught so many of us how to love, how to be kind, how to always keep a smile on your face, even in the toughest times.
Bailey, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten. We will forever honor your memory and rescue in your name. We will do our absolute best to continue to changes lives just as you have changed ours.
