Ben Nichols Obituary News: Asotin County Prosecutor Killed in a Tragic Motorcycle Crash

Ben Nichols, a longtime prosecutor for Asotin County, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, as a result of wounds he received in a motorbike accident.

The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office reports that Nichols was on Critchfield Road while operating a motorcycle. Around midday, a Subaru SUV made a left turn into Swallows Nest Road, and he was barely reaching the crossroads when they collided.

The Subaru’s 79-year-old Lewiston resident and driver, Richard B. Hensley, was unharmed.

Clarkston resident Nichols, 64, was taken urgently to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was reportedly evacuated to a Spokane trauma center with a better level of care.
