Ibrahim Abdul-Matin Obituary – Cause of Death: Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) mourn the loss of friend and leader, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin.
On Thursday, June 22, IMAN announced Abdul-Matin’s unexpected death via a social media post.
“We are profoundly saddened to hear of the passing of longtime IMAN friend and leader, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin,” the post read.
His cause of death was not mentioned.
As a community advocate, author, and beloved personality, Ibrahim helped pave the way for IMAN’s connection to NYC, including coordinating and hosting our 2009 and 2010 Community Cafés in legendary venues throughout Harlem, as well as completing the first comprehensive study helping to determine the feasibility of replicating IMAN’s model in other major cities.
