James Varin, the head of the Providence Fire Brigade, dedicated his entire life to serving the community.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he started working for the department in 1992. He gave the city he grew up in his life for more than three decades.
Varin had served in the Providence Fire Department for 31 years. Most recently, he served as Ladder 3’s captain at the Admiral Street Station.
