An investigation is ongoing after a fourteen-year-old kid was shot and murdered on Bell Street on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:44 pm, Columbus police rushed to Fire Station 6 on Brown Avenue in response to a report of a shooting victim, a 14-year-old kid, being dropped off at the station. The boy was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Emergency Room by EMS.

At 3:27 PM, the boy, later named as Jayden Tate, was declared dead. The initial shooting site was discovered by investigators at the Henry Avenue and Bell Street junction. There have been no arrests made by investigators.
