Norton City Schools mourn the loss of beloved and outstanding teacher, John Tanksley.
Tanksley passed away suddenly at his home in Norton this weekend.
“It is with heavy hearts that we must share with you, John Tanksley, Norton High School teacher, passed away suddenly at his home in Norton this weekend,” The Norton City Schools announced via a social media post.
His cause of death was not disclosed.
John was an outstanding teacher who always focused on students. He served as our Career Based Intervention teacher and was instrumental in assisting many of our students in earning their diplomas. John previously was the head coach of the Norton High School football team and had a tremendous influence on our student athletes. John was an exceptional teacher and caring man. He will be greatly missed.
