On June 17, an air-conditioned local train traveling quickly struck and killed an 18-year-old man waiting on platform 3 in a tragic incident at Western Railways Malad railway station.
Railway officials said that the incident happened as the deceased was washing a lunchbox close to the platform’s danger line. Despite obvious signs and frequent alerts about approaching trains, the untimely death of the deceased indicates irresponsibility on his side.
The information about the occurrence was given to the railway authorities by the station manager of Malad at 3:40 pm on the same day. The crisis was handled by the authorities, who also brought in medical experts and members of the RPF/GRP. The injured person, later identified as 18-year-old Anil Sharma, was given first aid on the spot before being taken to Shatabdi Hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead.
