Jason Watson, who is in charge of both the Northeast Fire District and the Millerton Fire Company, said that the Millerton Fire Company was the first to arrive and asked for more help. In New York and Connecticut, more than 100 firefighters and other emergency workers from many different agencies came and helped for more than three hours.
The pond is about a five-minute walk from Shagroy Road, which is off of Rudd Pond Road. This road is in Taconic State Park. No roads lead to the site, so rescue workers have to walk there. The pond is a favorite among locals because it is quiet and out of the way. “Keep Off the Ice” is written on a sign that is attached to a tree on the way to the pond.
Noah played baseball and played in both farm leagues and school leagues. About 50 students from Webutuck High School got help at the institution on Saturday.
