Officer Beland was a 30 year veteran of the police department and was awarded a number of citations and commendations throughout his career.
Officer Beland passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 on Friday, May 12, 2023 in Tyngsborough. For 16 years, he was the beloved husband of Jennifer M. (Deschenes) Beland and served as a Police Officer for the City of Lowell since 1993.
He served for many years as a K-9 officer, as a member of the department’s original Gang Unit, and most recently was assigned to Car 5 in Lowell’s Highlands neighborhood.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle.
