Alice Von Hildebrand Death – Cause of Death: Catholic philosopher and author, Alice Von Hildebrand dies aged 98.
According to an online obituary, Catholic philosopher and longtime professor Alice von Hildebrand died in her home after a brief illness at approximately 12:25 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022.
“With sadness suffused by joy, I write to share that our beloved friend and sister Alice von Hildebrand went home to the Lord at 12:25am this morning,” Hildebrand Project Founder and President, John Henry Crosby announced. “She died peacefully at home after a brief illness.”
Alice Marie von Hildebrand, GCSG was a Belgian-born American Catholic philosopher, theologian, author, and professor. Von Hildebrand was also the second wife of Dietrich von Hildebrand.
She moved to the United States in 1940 and began teaching at Hunter College in New York City in 1947. She retired in 1984. She lived in the United States and was a lecturer and author.
She made more than 80 appearances on EWTN television programming. In 2004, she launched the Dietrich von Hildebrand Legacy Project with some of her husband’s former students.
Her works include The Soul of a Lion: The Life of Dietrich von Hildebrand (2000), a biography of her husband, and her autobiography, Memoirs of a Happy Failure (2014), which recounts her escape from Nazi Europe and her teaching career at Hunter College.
