Andrew Cowell Death – Cause of Death: Former Launceston and Kingborough Tigers Football Club player, Andrew Cowell has passed away aged 51.
Andrew played 2 years with the Kingborough Tigers in 2000/2001. “He was a great competitor whenever he pulled on the Tiger jumper.”
Launceston Football Club announced Andrew’s death via post on the club’s official Facebook page on Tuesday.
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to past player, volunteer and loyal clubman Andrew Cowell,” the post read.
Andrew endured many challenges over recent years and his resilience and strength was evident as he battled serious illness, lost his legs in the process of treatment and was confined to a wheelchair.
“Andrew also had a loyal commitment to the Launceston FC as a past player and was a staunch supporter of the TSL and our thoughts are with his football club family in Launceston who have been amazing support to Andrew in more recent times,” Kingborough Tigers Football Club shared.
