Boston Red Sox player and broadcaster, Jerry Remy dies at 68

American Major League Baseball second baseman and broadcaster, Gerald Peter “Jerry” Remy passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 30, 2021. He was 68 years old.

The Red Sox confirmed that Remy died on Saturday night.

“This weekend we lost our beloved Jerry Remy – a former player, broadcaster, Red Sox Hall of Famer and friend.

For over 40 years, the RemDawg captured the hearts of Red Sox nation.”

Remy played three seasons with the California Angels(1975–77) and seven with the Boston Red Sox (1978–84). After retiring from professional play, he served as color commentator for Red Sox television broadcasts on NESN from 1988 until his death.
