Brian Unangst Death: Award-winning sports anchor, Brian Unangst dies from COVID-19 complications.
Longtime Blue Ridge Cable 13 sportscaster, Brian Unangst died on Sunday, December 26, due to complications from COVID-19, BRC13 announced.
“As a sportscaster at Blue Ridge 13, he loved telling athletes’ stories and shining a light on their achievements.”
Brian was a First Responder/volunteer for Wolfpack SAR for the past 6 years, and during that time served as a board president, Captain, and K9 handler with his K9 partner Bogie. He was also part of the Christian Motorcycle association.
“Brian’s passion was helping others.”
He leaves behind his wife Heather and four daughters.
“Our hearts go out to WolfPack Search and Recovery on the loss of their teammate and friend, Captain Brian Unangst,” New Jersey Rescue and Recovery K9 Unit shared a tribute. “A few of our members had the pleasure to not only meet Brian and train with Wolfpack on occasion but also be paired up on searches, and he left a lasting impression for every single one.”

Whether he was support for another handler or running his trailing dog, K9 Bogie, Brian was all in.
