C.J. Rayburn Death – Cause of Death: Legendary chassis builder, C.J. Rayburn dies from COVID aged 81.

According to an online obituary, Carl J. Rayburn of Whiteland, IN passed away at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

The dirt late model racing world is grieving today after learning of the passing of legendary chassis builder C.J. Rayburn.

Rayburn was credited with “inventing” the dirt late model. He was a real revolutionary for the sport of dirt track racing.
