Craig Hawksley Death – Cause of Death: St. Louis comedy icon, Craig Hawksley has passed away.
Craig was instrumental in bringing stand-up comedy to night clubs in the St. Louis area in the late 70s – a few years prior to the “comedy boom” of the 1980s.
According to an online obituary, the comedy icon passed last week aged 69. Craig was best known as the “Dobb’s Guy”.

Craig was born on the STL south side in 1952. He was the son of a fire fighter and a 1970 grad of St. Mary’s High School.
Craig cut his comedy teeth at various clubs around town including the Mine Shaft downtown, Bilbo Baggins in Clayton and Cleo’s Comedy Club in Westport Plaza which was eventually purchased by the Funny Bone Comedy Club.
Craig was an on-air personality and writer for K-SHE 95 and appeared on numerous local sports programs.
