Eatontown Car Accident: Atleast 6 hospitalized from 65-car pile-up crash on Route 18 on Wednesday.

There was atleast two multi-vehicle collision caused by the winter weather and icy road conditions by the off ramp of Route 18 South and 36 East in the Eatontown/Tinton Falls area on Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, the crash involved approximately 30 vehicles, where people were treated on scene and taken to Monmouth Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Hospital.

“This was a major event due to severe icing conditions that caused slick and dangerous roads which resulted in the pile up,” Monmouth Sheriff Shaun Golden said.

A second chain-collision and a third which happened on the road resulted in diesel fuel being discharged on the road. Atleast 65 car in total were involved in the crash.

The MCSO warns road users to stay off the road; “Please avoid the area of Route 18 South and 36 East in Eatontown until it re-opens.”
