Sir Charles “Cow” Williams Death – Cause of Death: Barbados’ iconic businessman, Sir Charles “Cow” Williams passed away at the Bayview Hospital on Friday, November 19. He was 88.
Sir Charles who was preferably known as as Cow or Cow Williams founded C.O. Williams Construction Group which has notable projects as hydro-electric power plants, golf courses, airports among others.
Sir Charles was a member of Barbados Polo Club. He was a passionate player, horse breeder, patron and lover of the sport of Polo.
“It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of one of the most charismatic members of our Club,” the club shared. “In his youth he was an avid player and continued playing well into his mid 80s.”
Sir Charles made a significant contribution to the development of Barbados as he was involved in a number of projects ranging from polo, yachting, farming, agriculture and real estate.
With the slogan ‘We Move the Earth to Please’, Sir Charles dedicated majority of his life to some of Barbados’ renowned construction projects such as Port St Charles, Apes Hill Golf Course and Millennium Heights.
He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2000 for his outstanding contribution to construction, tourism, agriculture and sports.
