Jason Walker Death: Cumberland County Deputy Involved in Shooting Placed on Administrative Leave.

An Off-duty deputy shot and killed Jason Walker of Fayetteville who police said jumped on a moving vehicle outside his Bingham Drive home at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Walker was shot and killed by an off-duty deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office who then called 911 following the incident.

In a released 911 call from Deputy Hash, following the shooting, je can be heard saying; “I just had a male jump on my vehicle and broke my windshield. I just shot him. I am a deputy sheriff,” as he chose not to mention his name.

The officer involved in the shooting was identified as Deputy Jeffrey Hash. He has been placed on administrative leave, pending an internal investigation.

Deputy Hash has served with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office since 2005 and is currently assigned as a Lieutenant in the Civil Section.
