Following a motorbike accident in Darke County on Tuesday night, one individual has died.
According to Darke County Sheriff Mark Whittaker, Versailles police, fire, and deputies were summoned to the 9300 block at 7:30 p.m. due to reports of a motorcycle crash.
According to Whittaker, when police got on the site they discovered a motorcycle in a field with a single driver who had been declared deceased. The driver was identified as an adult male.
According to deputies, an early investigation revealed that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was driving westbound on Jamison Road when it lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road, into a ditch, tossing the driver from it.
The biker, according to Whittaker, was not wearing a helmet.
